  • Instructions for Use

    WADER & BOOT REPAIR:

Clean damaged area with Cotol-240™ or solvent (paint thinner, nail polish remover or similar).

Trim loose threads. Non-fabric surfaces should be roughened with sandpaper, then cleaned.

Apply to surfaces directly from tube or with knife or flat stick.

Keep repair level overnight. Avoid contact with other surfaces.

Most repairs reach full strength overnight (8-10 hours). Allow longer for thickest repairs. Use Cotol-240 for fastest cure (2 hours or less).

    HOLES AND TEARS:

    Create backing with removable tape.

Fill void and 1/4" beyond edge with Aquaseal. Remove tape after full cure.

SEAMS: Apply 1/16" thick bead overlapping seam edges by at least 1/4". Apply with slight pressure to saturate fabric surfaces.

HIGH WEAR AREAS: Apply thin coat with knife for flexible abrasion resistance.

WARNING: FULLY CURED AQUASEAL IS SLIPPERY WHEN WET. For added traction on footwear, sprinkle sand on uncured Aquaseal 1/2 hour after applying.

CLEAN UP: To remove Aquaseal from hands, buff with cloth soaked in paint thinner, nail polish remover or 99% isopropyl alcohol.

STORAGE: Advance contents to tube neck. Wipe clean and cap. Keep in cool, dry place or for extended life, place in freezer. For thawing or for easier flowing contents, soak tube in warm water for 15 minutes.

  • Tips & Testimonials

  • What is it? –

When cured (dry) Aquaseal is a thick, clear, elastic urethane rubber.

    How it works? –

Aquaseal is applied to a hole or tear and allowed to cure over a period of hours (usually 8-12).

When applied, Aquaseal cures by reacting with humidity in the air. It doesn’t ‘dry’ the way other glues do. It changes from a thick liquid to a thick, flexible, elastic rubber.

Once cured, it’s permanent. The repair will generally last the life of the item.

    Testimonials –

"Aquaseal is the ultimate heavy duty fix for high wear areas where you need something strong and permanent but also flexible. I use Aquaseal on my neoprene gloves that I use for hiking. The gloves get a lot of abrasion from rocks during scrambling and from my trekking poles the rest of the time, but the Aquaseal protects them completely." -Justin Lichter aka "Trauma"

-- Extreme Long Distance Backpacker. Completed all three ‘long trails’ in under one year: Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail and Eastern Continental Trail – (the extended version of the Appalachian Trail: Cape Gaspe to Key West).

Most users become diehard fans. Many comment that their item (wetsuit, etc) has had so many fixes with Aquaseal that there’s “now more Aquaseal than neoprene.”

Many users seal stitched seams, both to seal out water and to make the seam smooth to the touch.

Many users comment at the durability of the repair describing wetsuits and other gear that they repaired many years ago and that’s still going strong.

Users regularly comment that they’ve ‘tried everything and only Aquaseal works!”

Tapes or patches may be used during curing to hold parts together or provide a backing, but once Aquaseal is cured the tapes or patches can be removed. The Aquaseal alone is strong enough to permanently fix

Aquaseal is generally impervious to solvents such as Acetone, Toluene, paint thinner, etc.

Store partially used tubes in a zip lock bag in the freezer (to reduce the tube’s exposure to humidity).

"I used this to repair several different pairs of boots that tire patches, GOOP Plumbers Cement and Gorilla Glue didn't work on."- Chuck, Michigan

"...a hole in my neoprene waders about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Cut a patch out of some worn out waterproof neoprene gloves. Glued the patch over the hole, put a heavy weight on it over night. Used them in the morning setting out my decoys. Not a leak to be felt. Worked so well I touched up some other areas that looked bad. Thanks"- P., Torrey New York

"Good repair- I bought the Aquaseal to seal the seams of foul weather gear I had recut."- P. Evans, Kansas City

"I tried a lot of products for repair of punctured hip boots and none lasted. I then tried Aquaseal, and, using thin nylon for reinforcement, permanently sealed the waders. I also used it successfully on old rubber-bottomed hunting boots. I'm going to purchase more of the same product to have on hand for future punctures and tears to waders, hip boots, and rubber-bottomed hunting boots.- Wayne W. Orwell, VT

"This stuff works good, a strong flexible seal. I used the Cotol 240 cleaner to clean and prep the site first. " - Pamela L.

    Additional Customers Comments –

"You will need it and it is the most popular for a reason. One application before you go in the water is all it takes. I used it snorkeling in Hawaii for two weeks and I have no complaints."- L. Wolfe, Chandler, AZ

"I used Aquaseal to repair a wetsuit and it has worked perfectly. It can patch large tears or small punctures and seals them bone dry. I highly recommend it." - San Diego, CA

"Aquaseal was requested as a Christmas gift by a whitewater river guide as he had used the product and has faith in the product." - Juje, Ohio

"I had a couple of pin hole leaks on my waders. I turned them inside out and filled them with water. Marked the areas that were leaking, dumped the water out and let them dry. Used this stuff on the areas marked and no more leaks. Much cheaper than new waders.-T., Tennessee
