  • Instructions for Use

Tenacious Sealing & Repair Tape holds tenaciously!

    Directions

Clean and dry area to be repaired. Trim loose threads. Join torn edges of material.

For smaller repairs, cut tape for appropriate size, allowing overlap of repair of at least 1 inch (25mm) in all directions.

Round the edges of tape for best adhesion.

Remove paper backing and apply to damaged area over hard, flat surface. May be applied to outside surface or inside surface depending upon cosmetic preference, or both sides for the highest performance repair.

After applying, rub with pressure using circular motion from center out. Item may be used immediately. Adhesive reaches full strength in 24 hours.

    Adhesive Option

If more permanent repairs are desired. Tenacious Tape can be used with Seam Grip® or Aquaseal® Urethane Adhesives. If used in this manner, follow adhesive application instructions and overlap the adhesive with Tenacious Tape by at least 1 inch (25mm).

Once adhesive is fully cured, the tape may be removed if desired.

    Storage and Care

Store unused portion of tape in sealed plastic bag.

Tenacious Tape is washable. Do not dry clean.

  • Tips & Testimonials

    What it Is –

Tenacious Tapes are a range of outdoor repair tapes that use a special high strength adhesive. Unlike duct tape and other outdoor repair tapes, Tenacious Tape can be removed later without leaving a gooey residue behind. This is particularly useful on items such as rainwear, down jackets, sleeping bags, tents and packs where additional repairs may be desired at a later date. Tenacious Tape is made with real outdoor fabrics in the most common outdoor gear colors.

    How it Works –

Simply peel off the backing and apply to the damaged area. - Cut out sections of Tenacious Tape to desired shapes and sizes for a precise repair. - For most repairs, apply to one side of the damaged fabric. - For extreme high strength repairs apply to both sides of the damaged fabric.

    Testimonials –

"This stuff looks even better than the tape of the same name I bought to fix an air mattress years ago. The sleeping pad i fixed had a 2 inch tear and after some careful placement and hard pressing it has welded to the pad, and it holds at least 200 lbs worth of air pressure. Highly recommended for anyone with an inflatable sleeping pad."- Dave, Rivertown, IL

"I have used this tape to repair two tents and a sleeping bag. The tent has seen at least two weeks of compounded use since and the tape still holds. The sleeping bag has been used and washed at least half a dozen times since. In both cases, the tape shows no signs of loosing strength or wearing off. It is better than duct tape. And the clear tape works great with just about anything."- Matej, New Orleans, LA

    Additional User Comments –

Users immediately notice the very strong ‘tack’ to the adhesive. Many users have also commented their pleasant surprise at the precise fabric and color match to their gear. Users also consistently notice that the tape is much less stiff and ‘bulky’ than duct tape, allowing garments and gear to flex and pack up normally.

"Tenacious Tape is indispensable! Don’t leave home without it. It sticks so much better than duct tape and doesn’t leave a sticky residue if you decided to remove it later. It’s perfect for quick fixes in the field or even permanent repairs. I love it because I can put it on fast and it is sticky as heck. When I get home I can peel it off cleanly if I want to, unlike duct tape, and do a more elaborate repair. I burnt a hole in my sleeping bag and threw some on before any feathers escaped. It was perfect and is still sticking to the spot over a year later"

    Boot Use Tip

TRUE OR FALSE? Heavy duty mountain boots are obsolete for backpacking. True. But while the ultralight backpacking crowd (carrying 20 lb. packs) get by on trails using trail running shoes or even good sport sandals, most folks carrying heavier loads should have some ankle support. Well-made light hikers with a 3/4 or full-height ankle collar are usually enough for moderate loads on most trails.
